Blood pressure in high blood pressure

High blood pressure in hypertension is the main criterion for chronic hypertension, which requires urgent treatment. Remember that slight fluctuations in blood pressure may occur during the day, this is normal. But if the elevated level remains at a high level for a long time, or the pressure fluctuates with very large variations, then it is high blood pressure.

If you suffer from high blood pressure, you need to measure your blood pressure correctly and regularly.

What is the blood pressure of a hypertensive patient?

People's blood pressure is expressed by two indicators: upper or systolic and lower (diastolic). For adults, normal blood pressure should be between 120/80 and 129/84 mmHg. Symptoms indicating illness:

  • headache in the back of the head;
  • insomnia;
  • dizziness;
  • faint;
  • pain in the area of the heart;
  • goosebumps or circles in front of the eyes.

For hypertensive patients, the criteria vary depending on the stage of the disease, as shown in the table:

The degree of high blood pressure Pressure values in mm Hg. Art. Symptoms Treatment
Lightweight Between 140 and 90 between 160 and 100
  • Due to stress, blood pressure rises periodically
  • Headache
  • Diet
  • Normalization of lifestyle
Moderate 160/100-180/110
  • Enlargement of the left ventricle of the heart
  • Dizziness
  • Faint
  • Medicines
  • Easy exercise
  • Diet
Hard Above 180/110
  • Stroke
  • A heart attack
  • Heart rhythm disturbance
  • Nose bleeding
  • Strong drugs
  • Strict diet

High blood pressure is more dangerous than low blood pressure. You should also beware of pathology, since there are practically no symptoms at the initial stage. Late detection of the problem threatens to disrupt the functioning of the internal organs and prolong the treatment.

How should it be measured to get a reliable result?

Blood pressure measurements must be performed correctly, the accuracy of the result depends on this. Basic rules of measurements:

  • Take measurements 3 times a day before meals.
  • The patient's hand should be at heart level.
  • The cuff of the device should be in contact with the skin, but not too tight so that your index finger can be placed between the cuff and the skin. The air must be inflated quickly and deflated slowly.
  • Do not smoke, drink coffee, tea or alcohol 30 minutes before the procedure.
  • Do not talk or strain your hand during the measurement.
  • Better to measure with both hands. In this case, the difference between left and right should not normally exceed 10%.

The main methods of prevention

For preventive purposes and to maintain normal blood pressure, you should follow simple requirements:

  • monitors fluctuations in body weight;
  • the amount of salt consumed should not exceed 5 g per day;
  • Do simple exercises daily;
  • remove alcohol and nicotine from consumption;
  • add fresh fruits and vegetables to your daily diet.

Proper treatment of high blood pressure

You can stabilize blood pressure and sometimes completely get rid of the disease in various ways: traditional or medicinal methods. You can lower your blood pressure at home with tea and tinctures. Medication should be used with extreme caution and after consultation with a doctor. Some medications can cause your blood pressure to drop very quickly. Medicines are divided into the groups indicated in the table.
